It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood
It is such a beautiful day! We have a lot of people in the village right now and the village is filled with laughter chatting and digging. Some of the guys in the village decided that they were done with snow, that spring was here and by golly if it wasn’t going to melt they would dig the village out, so they have been digging and digging and digging for several days and we now have the Holden super highway which goes down from Agape to the dining hall and then down to the road. A bunch of the guests have gotten into it as well and everyone is out there with their shovels sweating and digging and having a jolly time! A lot of the kids are playing on the road in the puddles that are forming from the melting snow. It is actually sixty degrees today and the sky is clear and blue. They dug out the ark a while ago and there are people crocheting and sunning themselves.
Dave and I spent the morning listening to good loud music and cleaning. It feels good to get things done around here. Jordyn is down in the kitchen helping to make the Pizzas for dinner tonight and Nyrie has some serious plans with her friend Ellie. They have been wandering all over the village and have some extravagant imaginary game going on. When I look out from my porch I am amazed at the mountains at the crispness of the sky and it is so fun hearing the joyful sounds of an active living village. As the snow is melting it is so fun to watch trees and bushes and rocks and weird random posts and pipes appearing.
This evening the High school kids are having an auction with lots of village made things. They have worked hard all day setting it up.
Last night we had a cellist play for the prayer around the cross service, and it was so beautiful! I was moved by the depths of sound and the emotion in her playing. It was beautiful. That service is such a nice way to start a weekend, with quiet reflection, beautiful music and candle light. I am missing Pastor Eric. This week has been a lot of fun, but I have been more aware of the depths of his work and what an amazing job he does here at Holden. Well, I’m off to join the village activities. Have a great day friends!
Love, Angela

Hello Mietzkes!
I have been checking up on your adventures occasionally, so I was aware of your location on Lake Chelan. Well, two guys from work are going to be in the town of Chelan starting this weekend (4/19) for about a week laying a power cable across the lake. So, if you happen to get to Chelan, find the barge with the reel of cable on it and ask for Geoff or Dave from MariPro. Geoff is practically my neighbor here in Santa Ynez and we work together all over the world. And they're great people, too.
It's great to hear you guys are having such a wonderful time in Holden. It sounds like an incredible place.
Love,
-Leanne, Sophia, and Ryan Elliott
P.S. Happy belated Birthday Angela!
